Head Veterinary Nurse - West London

We are seeking an experienced Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our close-knit team in West London, a well-established small animal first-opinion practice with a loyal client base.

As Head Nurse, you will provide clinical leadership to the nursing team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient and client care while maintaining the highest standards of clinical governance, regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

The Practice

The practice is supported by a skilled team of Registered Veterinary Nurses and receptionists who manage a varied and engaging caseload.

The practice is well equipped with:
• Digital X-ray
• Ultrasound
• Full in-house laboratory including haematology, biochemistry, urinalysis and microscopy

The Role

This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week with weekends on a shared rota.

Key responsibilities include:
• Providing clinical leadership and day-to-day management of the nursing team
• Ensuring exceptional standards of patient and client care
• Supporting surgical and medical procedures, including pre and post-operative care
• Promoting and developing nurse-led clinics and Schedule 3 procedures
• Overseeing inpatient care, admissions and discharges
• Ensuring compliance with all regulatory, practice and operational standards
• Coaching, mentoring and developing the nursing team
• Supporting a positive, collaborative and learning-focused team culture
