Head Veterinary Nurse - Wiltshire

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Veterinary Nurse to join a friendly, well-established practice in Wiltshire, set within a close-knit community and surrounded by beautiful countryside.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident nursing leader who enjoys combining hands-on clinical work with team leadership, coaching and service development.

The Role

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), with a 1 in 4 Saturday rota. The role offers a varied mix of consulting, theatre and leadership responsibilities, providing continuity of care and genuine scope to shape nursing standards within the practice.

As Head Nurse, you will play a key role in leading the nursing team, driving high clinical standards and supporting the ongoing development of nurse-led services.

The practice is well equipped to support excellent clinical care, including ultrasound, dental x-ray and a full in-house laboratory, enabling nurses to work to the top of their licence. Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and day-to-day support to the nursing team
• Deliver consistently high standards of patient and client care
• Support surgical procedures, including all pre- and post-operative activity
• Lead and develop nurse-led consultations and Schedule 3 procedures
• Oversee patient monitoring, admissions and discharges
• Ensure clinical, regulatory and operational standards are met
• Coach, mentor and develop colleagues, sharing best practice
