Lead Night Veterinary Surgeon – 24-Hour Hospital

A modern and well-equipped 24-hour veterinary hospital in Central London is seeking an experienced Lead Night Veterinary Surgeon to join its dedicated emergency and critical care team. The hospital provides round-the-clock care supported by advanced facilities, integrated patient record systems, and strong clinical collaboration across multiple sites to ensure continuity of care. The Role
- Permanent night position with a rotating schedule of 7 nights on, followed by 14 nights off
- Shift pattern: Monday to Sunday, 7:00pm – 9:00am
- Weekends and Bank Holidays included within scheduled rotation
- Opportunity to manage and develop emergency and inpatient cases within a well-equipped 24-hour setting
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations, procedures, and emergency cases
- Provide clear and compassionate communication to clients regarding patient care and treatment plans
- Prepare tailored treatment plans and accurate cost estimates
- Maintain high standards of regulatory, operational, and clinical compliance
- Lead, mentor, and support colleagues within the clinical team
- Complete thorough clinical handovers and coordinate ongoing patient care
- Promote clinical best practice and contribute to a progressive clinical culture
Candidate Requirements
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Previous experience in emergency and critical care or a busy hospital environment
- Strong clinical leadership and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience supporting and mentoring colleagues within a clinical setting
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient and client care
