Overview
A well-equipped, busy 24-hour veterinary hospital in Greater London is seeking a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its dedicated clinical team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated nurse to develop skills across medical, surgical, and emergency and critical care (ECC) nursing, working alongside an experienced night veterinary surgeon.
The hospital manages a diverse and complex caseload and is equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities, including CT imaging, ultrasound, endoscopy, and multiple surgical theatres.
This is an ideal role for a veterinary nurse who enjoys a fast-paced clinical environment and is committed to delivering outstanding patient and client care.
Working Pattern
- 7 nights on / 14 nights off rolling schedule
Key Responsibilities
The Night Registered Veterinary Nurse will:
- Deliver high standards of patient care, including nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 procedures
- Support veterinary surgeons during consultations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures
- Monitor hospitalised patients and provide appropriate overnight care
- Manage patient admissions and discharges
- Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to all regulatory and operational standards
- Provide exceptional communication and support to clients
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth hospital operations
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Be a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with the relevant professional registration
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient welfare and high clinical standards
- Have excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Be confident working in a hospital environment with a varied caseload
- Show enthusiasm for professional development and continuous learning
