Veterinary Surgeon — Poultry Medicine

A dedicated commercial poultry and game bird practice is looking for a vet to join their team. Experienced poultry vets are welcomed, but so too are small animal or farm vets looking for a fresh challenge — specific poultry training will be provided. The practice

• One of the UK's largest dedicated commercial poultry and game bird practices
• Award winnning practice
• Multiple UK bases plus two in-house laboratories and a biosecurity company within the group
• Work spans commercial poultry farms, genetic companies, pharma consultancy and research institutions
• Team of 2 experienced vets, a practice manager, senior administrator and vet tech
• Monthly clinical clubs and a collaborative, close-knit working culture

The role

• Diagnostics via post-mortems, farm visits and laboratory work
• Routine visits for veterinary health and welfare plans and scheme compliance
• Surveillance visits for disease outbreaks including Avian Influenza
• Data analysis, epidemiology and client relationship development
• Occasional export certification
• Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00 with 1 in 4 weekends on call after training

What we're looking for

• RCVS registered vet — poultry experience preferred but small animal or farm vets considered
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Analytical mindset with good attention to detail
• A team player who is calm under pressure and eager to develop
• A genuine interest in poultry medicine and production
