Registered Veterinary Nurse — Consulting Focus

A refreshing opportunity to join a small, independently owned GP practice in the Brighton and Hove area. This is a consulting-focused nursing role at a practice with a genuinely different philosophy — one that puts continuity of care at its heart and gives its team the freedom to make the best clinical decisions without the pressure of targets. No OOH. Overtime always paid. Work-life balance actively encouraged.

The practice

• Small, independent GP practice
• Owner-led and operated — with a close-knit, supportive team
• A unique "one pet, one vet/nurse" model ensuring continuity of care for every patient
• No out-of-hours — outsourced to a nearby clinic
• Any overtime worked is always paid — no expectation to stay late for free

The role

• Lead nurse consultations with a strong focus on the consulting room
• Run weight management clinics alongside all standard nurse-led appointments
• Build lasting relationships with clients through a continuity-of-care model
• Support student nurses as a clinical coach — bonus paid when actively mentoring
• 4 days per week (9.25 hours) with Tuesdays or Wednesdays off and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings
• Part-time also considered

What we're looking for

• Qualified RVN with a strong consulting room background
• Clinical coach status preferred, or a willingness to work towards it
• A calm, client-focused approach with a genuine passion for continuity of care

Benefits

• Salary £30,000–£33,000 depending on experience and qualifications
• Clinical coach bonus when actively mentoring a student
• 4 weeks holiday plus bank holidays
• £1,000 annual CPD allowance
• Professional fees paid in full
