Veterinary Surgeon – Bedfordshire

A veterinary practice in Bedfordshire is seeking a passionate and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join a supportive, experienced team.

About the Practice
The practice is a purpose-built, air-conditioned facility with state-of-the-art equipment, including digital x-rays, ultrasound, K-laser, and tonometry. Alternative therapies, such as acupuncture, are encouraged.

The team consists of 4 veterinarians, 3 registered veterinary nurses, 3 student veterinary nurses, a practice manager, 4 receptionists, and a veterinary care assistant. One veterinarian holds a certificate in ophthalmology.

The Role
The role involves providing general practice care with both surgical and medical responsibilities. Applicants should be confident with some sole-charge duties and enjoy engaging with clients, patients, and colleagues. The caseload includes a variety of surgical cases, including occasional orthopaedics, and the team has a balanced surgical and medical focus.

  • Part-time: Monday and Friday, 8:30am – 8:00pm
  • Weekend rota: 1:4 sole charge (Saturday 8:30am – 6:00pm; Sunday 10:00am – 4:00pm)
  • Flexible working days may be discussed at interview
  • No out-of-hours work

Candidate Qualities

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • Strong all-round clinical skills in small animal practice
  • Enjoys building relationships with clients, patients, and team members
  • Enthusiastic, team-oriented, and independent when required
  • Interest in additional CPD and certifications encouraged
