Full-time preferred | Part-time considered

An established and supportive small animal practice in Chester is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join the team at an exciting time of growth and innovation. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet looking to explore or develop special interests while working in a well-structured, forward-thinking environment.

The Practice

The team is large, experienced, and highly collaborative, offering strong clinical support and a breadth of knowledge across multiple disciplines. Certificates and CPD are actively encouraged and fully supported.

The Role

This role is ideally suited to an experienced Veterinary Surgeon confident in routine consults and surgery. An interest or experience in dentistry, cardiology, or laparoscopy would be advantageous, but applications are also welcomed from consult-only vets or those with other clinical interests.

Key details include:

  • Full-time role preferred; part-time hours considered
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am–6:30pm
  • 1 in 5 Saturday mornings (9:00am–12:30pm)
  • No out-of-hours or Sundays
  • 20-minute consultations
  • Structured diary with protected admin time and fully blocked lunch breaks
  • Strong nursing support throughout the day

There is also support available for vets who are open to learning and working with AI-based clinical tools.

The Team

The practice is home to a well-established team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, and support staff, led by an experienced management team. The caseload is varied, with a high proportion of insured pets and proactive clients.

Team culture is a real highlight, with regular social activities outside of work that contribute to a close-knit and supportive working environment.

What’s On Offer

  • Competitive salary around £60,000 (DOE, FTE)
  • Generous CPD allowance with support for certificates
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Paid professional memberships
  • Company-wide discounts and rewards
  • Supportive, well-organised working environment with genuine work–life balance

Why Apply?
