Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Small Animal Practice (Hampshire)

Independent GP practice

• Flexible hours (20–38 per week)

• No OOH

• 1:4 Saturday mornings

The Practice

This is a well-established independent small animal GP practice in Hampshire, offering a friendly, supportive, and genuinely flexible working environment. The practice places a strong emphasis on clinical freedom, continuity of care, and team wellbeing.

The team currently consists of four veterinary surgeons, supported by an experienced and capable nursing and reception team, including four qualified veterinary nurses, one student veterinary nurse, and three receptionists. The practice is well organised, with excellent support available throughout the working day, allowing vets to focus on delivering high-quality patient care.

The Role

The practice is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join the team on either a full-time or part-time basis. The role is open to discussion and can be tailored to suit the individual’s strengths and interests.

Mix of consults & surgery

For veterinary surgeons with a strong interest in surgery, there is the opportunity to have a dedicated operating day each week, with flexibility for surgical involvement across multiple days if desired.

Working Hours & Flexibility

The practice offers an excellent level of flexibility around working patterns:

20–38 hours per week

2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week considered

Weekday hours are typically 8:30am – 7:00pm, with flexibility where needed

Weekend work is limited to 1 Saturday morning in 4 (8:30am – 12:00pm)

No out-of-hours work

Salary: Up to £65,000 DOE

RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

Confident in first-opinion small animal practice
