Veterinary Surgeon – Fixed-Term Opportunity in Coastal Essex
Location: Essex
Job Type: Fixed-Term Contract (Up to 12 Months) | Full-Time

A friendly and well-established small animal practice in Essex is seeking a motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join its supportive clinical team on a fixed-term basis for up to 12 months. This opportunity is ideal for a vet looking to further develop their clinical skills within a busy and well-equipped environment.

The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced and collaborative team, benefiting from mentorship, exposure to a varied caseload, and access to modern facilities. The practice offers a positive working culture with a strong focus on teamwork, professional growth, and delivering excellent patient care.

The Role

  • Full-time position with a 4-day working week
  • Fixed days off to support work-life balance
  • 1 in 3 Saturday rota
  • Shared out-of-hours and Bank Holiday rota through a nearby 24-hour hospital with low and well-supported OOH commitment
  • Opportunity to work with a varied and busy caseload to build clinical confidence and experience

  • Experienced Veterinary Surgeons providing ongoing support and mentorship
  • Registered Veterinary Nurses
  • Dedicated client care and administrative support staff

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon registered with the RCVS
  • Minimum of 12 months’ UK veterinary experience
  • Passion for high clinical standards and patient care
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Enthusiastic and motivated approach to professional development
