Veterinary Surgeon – Surgical Focus & Clinical Autonomy

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established small animal practice in Northamptonshire, offering a strong surgical caseload, genuine clinical autonomy, and excellent long-term development opportunities.

This role is ideally suited to a Veterinary Surgeon with a keen interest in surgery who is looking to further develop their skills and build a dedicated surgical caseload within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will become the primary surgically focused vet within the practice, with surgical cases naturally directed to them, providing excellent exposure, continuity, and the opportunity to expand both confidence and clinical expertise.

The practice benefits from a loyal and long-standing client base and is equipped with modern facilities including ultrasound, ECG, dental equipment, an in-house laboratory, and separate cat and dog wards.

The Role

  • Full-time position: 40 hours across 4 days
  • Part-time applications also considered
  • 1 in 3 Saturdays or 1 in 6 full weekends within a supported 24-hour hospital network
  • No out-of-hours requirements
  • Strong surgical focus with opportunity to develop autonomy and case continuity

The practice is looking for a qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon who:
