Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal Practice

West Yorkshire
Salary up to £60,000 (DOE, FTE)
Full-time | 4-day week

A progressive and supportive small animal practice in West Yorkshire is seeking an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly and close-knit team. This role is ideal for a vet with at least two years’ experience who is keen to develop clinically, pursue areas of interest, and work to a consistently high standard.

The Practice

This busy and growing practice offers an excellent learning environment with strong clinical mentorship and a genuine commitment to professional development. The clinical team includes Veterinary Surgeons holding advanced surgical qualifications, enabling complex soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures to be carried out in-house.

The practice supports a wide range of clinical interests, including surgery, diagnostic imaging, and internal medicine, and is well equipped to deliver gold-standard care.

Facilities include:

  • Digital X-ray and IM3 dental X-ray
  • Ultrasound
  • In-house laboratory
  • Fully equipped surgical suite
  • Class IV laser therapy
  • Separate dog, cat, and isolation wards

The Role

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a structured rota designed to support work–life balance.

Key details include:

  • 4-day weekday rota with the same day off each week
  • 1 in 3 Saturdays
  • No out-of-hours or Sundays
  • Consistent scheduling to support personal commitments

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced colleagues, receiving excellent clinical support and encouragement to develop further interests or pursue certificates.

The Ideal Candidate

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • Minimum of 2 years’ small animal experience
  • Confident in routine surgery and consultations
  • Enthusiastic about learning and professional development
  • Committed to delivering gold-standard patient and client care
